JC Penney‘s Christmas commercial this year has a young girl building her dream, accompanied by John Lennon’s acoustic version of “Real Love”. Janice is inspired by both a Santa Claus truck and snowballs from the boys in her street to get into action. She heads down to the junk yard with her tricycle to start on her secret project. The rest is pure inspiration… “Today is the day to believe. Merry Christmas”.

Real Love Music
The track, “Real Love”, written by John Lennon, was released posthumously by the surviving Beatles in 1996 as a single and on the Beatles Anthology 2 album. The version used in this commercial has John Lennon singing solo with piano, a track found on his 2004 Acoustic album and on his 2005 album, Working Class Hero: The Definitive Lennon.
