Cars.com Plan A and Plan B

Cars.com is preparing for its largest marketing campaign ever with the launch of two TV ads, Stone Circle and Witch Doctor, during the Super Bowl 2008. The online car sales service is a division of Classified Ventures, a joint venture run by the Gannett Company, the McClatchy Company, the Washington Post Company and the Tribune Company. The spots both end with the new tagline, Confidence Comes Standard.

Glondor in Cars.com Super Bowl ad

A customer in a used car yard, played by Matt McConkey, is so confident in his Cars.com information that he talks about not needing to go to plan B, having the salesman fight Glondoor in a flaming stone circle. Does the title of the ad mean a reference to role playing and World of Warcraft? Click on the image below to play the Stone Circle video.

Thanks to Cars.com this customer doesn’t have to use Plan B, using a witchdoctor to shrink the salesman’s head. But things get a bit out of hand. Click on the image below to play the Witch Doctor (Shrunken Head) video.

Brownies

Thanks to Cars.com this customer doesn’t have to use Plan B, resorting to brownies mixed with horse laxative. Click on the image below to play the Cars.com Brownies video.
