Foxtel HD Lost in Time

Foxtel is launching a new high definition service, Foxtel HD+, with a TV advertising campaign looking back over the many milestones in Australian television history. A young boy looks at Bruce Gyngell’s introduction of television through a shop window in Sydney, accompanied by his whistling father (1956). We’re then taken on a journey through time, with the acquisition of a PYE television, the arrival of colour (1972), the remote control (wired), VHS videocassettes, DVDs, widescreens, digital television, and finally high definition services provided by Foxtel.

Lost in Time Credits

The Lost in Time spot was developed at Three Drunk Monkeys, Sydney, by executive creative directors Justin Drape and Scott Nowell, creative director Shane Gibson, copywriter Nick Morrissey, agency producer Thea Carone.

“We created the campaign around the idea that new technology is always exciting, but it’s even better when you can share it with family and friends. Everybody has fond memories of watching their first VHS movie or DVD so we wanted to capture that emotion and position FOXTEL HD+ as the next step forward.” Justin Drape, CD, Three Drunk Monkeys

Filming was shot by director Adam Stevens via Robber’s Dog.

Music is “Lost in Time”, by Melbourne folk/country/experimental artist Whitley (Lawrence Greenwood).
