Vancouver copywriter Laurie McGuinness has put together four spoofs of the “Get A Mac” advertising campaign. PC (Brent Chapman) is played as a Baby Boomer executive who contemptuously derides his Gen Y creative employee Mac (Evan Schulte).
In “Money” Mac works for PC but isn’t too happy about how much he gets paid. “How am I supposed to pay my rent?” “Well,” says PC, “you could make your landlord one of those cool movies.” Click on the image below to play the video.
In “Girl” PC’s taking the weekend off to ski with his beautiful girlfriend (played by Jamie Erickson). Mac’s staying at home with another guy (played by Keith Moore) to record a video for his Ultimate team and record some music in his basement. Click on the image below to play the video.
In “Work” PC explains that Mac is running behind schedule. Mac apologizes for his lateness, explaining that he’d been busy making a web site for his cat. The pressure’s on. They have a meeting in fifteen minutes which Mac had not remembered. “That was today?” PC wonders if Mac is high. “Do you want a lift over or do you want to ride your unicycle?” Click on the image below to play the video.
In “Music” Mac doesn’t want to share his music with PC. Click on the image below to play the video.

Wicked! I too find myself obsessing about our advert driven world:

See?
GAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY! Cheap repro’s of a theme that has made waves. Is it too hard to go out there and be original, instead of trying to take credit for someone else’s idea?
Obviously made by someone with serious Mac-envy.
I guess I’m just dumb.
I can’t fathom the spoofs – way too clever for me.
So do I buy a pc or an apple?
I luv pc
